Hi guys.

Remember the backyard widefield shots (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=2761) I took on the EQ platform on the 3rd July?

Well I got around to reprocessing one of them using "registar" to register and combine the images, instead of registax. It's a much better tool for widefield stacking and the stacked image was a much better result with more pinpoint stars. I also added some mouse-over labels to show the objects.

The image shown below is the preview version, click on the image to go the full version (200k) where you'll see the mouse-overs.

Comments welcome.

Nice one Mike  I find that mouse over shots are a great help for myself and others who are still trying to put names to the stars above.

I just wonder if 15 second exposures-sufficient numbers stacked- would get anywhere near...(my point and shoot digicam only goes for 15 secs..got to try one of these days.)

Nice processing Mike

Thanks guys.

I'm not sure why you'd want to use your point-and-shoot when you have the canon 300d?

Before I had tracking I used 15s exposures (3 of them, stacked) which is about the limit I could go to before trailing was evident.
