Following on with a string of Biggest evers, here's the biggest ever bird, or 2 to be correct. These guys wander round the streets of Pukapunyal near our son's place. They wander the street around midday every day, you can almost set your clock by them and they're quite tame. At night the Kangaroos come out, it's nothing to see half a dozen big greys grazing the front lawn at dusk.

Wow - exciting wildlife happenings, nice photo!
We've walked nearby these amazing birds at a wild life sanctuary, keeping a wary eye on them along with sufficient distance to feel comfortable, although they can move very fast I hear.

You're right, that's big.
Isn't it great to see nature in the suburbs.
A couple of years ago Greg the kids and I were driving up the beach at
Bribie Island and we saw an Emu strolling along the sand.
I couldn't believe my eyes.
An Emu at the beach.
wouldnt it be great if we could co-exist with nature like this all the time? :)
top find!

Here's one showing Eric the Emu strolling past & eyeballing grandson Hamish and a close up.
Nice photos Phil.
It would be amazing to see these guys stroll around outside.
They have such mesmerizing eyes.

And sneaky too. One park I was at used to sell packs of breadcrumbs to feed the birds. Turned to talk to my mrs and an emu came up the other side and took the whole pack out of my hand.
