hello all
i dont whether this has been asked and answered before so here goes
for those people using speaker magnets what are you using to stop the magnets from scrathing the OTA ? without affecting the attraction :) ?
ive covered them in clear waterproof sticky tape however that is proving to be a sliding affair :(
i am after not costing too much solutions ?

Mine just has a piece of rubber glued to the magnet. Doesn't slide.

I have a pic in here of mine. I used Bicycle inner tube cut and glued to the magnet. I don't know why yours loses grip. I have trouble getting my big one off sometimes when my hands are too cold and won't operate properly so I often just slide it up to the centre balance point where it has no balancing effect anymore.
I will go look for the pic and come back. It shows the rubber inner tube glued to one I turned upside down for all to see!
EDIT: Found it in 'Counterweight for Meade UWA' thread.

I found a close-up of it here. http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1307
The 4 bumps under the rubber are the aluminium rivets that held the magnet to the speaker. I forgot to file them off before I put the glue on it

I just use some stick on felt from Spotlight. Mine is the stylish red colour :)
