Clouds departed at 4am and i was treated to some nice seeing.
Jupiter is getting bright enough that my dimmest filter (red) was still able to operate at 30fps and have 60 - 75% histogram filled

Absolutely beautiful detail in the clouds.
I found myself looking at the image for quite a while, just enjoying the detail.
Well done and keep up the good work.

Hi David
Fantastic shot. I'm relatively new to Tasmania (JUl 07) and to imaging with some basic gear (6" Newt on EQ3 and NexImage 'webcam'). I too was about around 3-4am with PeteMo from Perth WA taking shots of Jupiter. My questions are what set-up are you using to get this result and the 'wart' on Jup to the lower right - is that Ganymede/ Ganymede shadow as we picked up a spot in the same area but couldn't resolve a moon? The spot appeared to be oval suggesting it may have been both moon and shadow.
Cheers

Hi John
My scope is a custom made 10" x f6 newt on a heavily cut and shut dob base to allow for a Dob Driver II.
The wart is the actual moon ganymede. As we are still a few months before opposition, the moon shadow preceded the moon itself by a few hours. Which is probably the dark spot you saw earlier.
I hope we have a Tassie catchup soon again at Ross and we can catch up :)

Great stuff Dave, I love the wart :)
Very nice image, and agree one of your best. Excellent colour. I know it must be killing you not to resample 3/2 but I much prefer the native scale presented here unless the seeing is exceptional :)
One day i'll get some clear skies again to beta-test your ninox batcher. Have you got a new beta that I should install first?

Hi Dave,
A great image Dave nicely captured and processed. The detail on Ganymede and its position make this extra special.
Cheers

I have nearly sorted davesplanets.com and will post the final beta for winninox hopefully today.
It has handled everything I have thrown at it recently.
thanks for comments guys:thumbsup:

Excellent work Davo! Great detail and Ganymede adds a 3D dimension to your excellent shot.
Very nice, David:thumbsup: Getting better and better.
I agree that the native size is definitely working for you.
