Hi All,
Here's Saturn from tonight.
Meade 10" RCX400 @ F16, DMK21AF04.As for Luminance, Toucam for RGB.
I had noticed that the Blue part of the colour was always very dodgy, so I out a #12 Yellow filter in front of the DMK to try and filter it out. Not sure how successful I was, but it was an idea.
The colour filter is not in the imaging path for the Toucam, for some reason my Saturns always tend to be a bit yellow.
Cheers

Nice result, Stuart. Looks like you caught a storm, too! Always a bonus.
If you would like, post the raw image of both we can have a go at processing?

Good work. I have always thought the planet had a strong yellow component while the rings are quite blue in contrast. You have done a nice job with both to my eye anyway.

Well, I suspect that the colour is in the eye of the beholder really, from down here, the atmosphere probably imparts some colour, particularly as it was very smoggy here yesterday.
Unless someone has seen it unaided, we're all just guessing ;-)
I tried to balance the rings and forget about the planet, also tried to make the sky look black. I guess that the rings are mainly made up of white/grey material, so should reflect white light from the sun, the clouds obviously absorb some wavelengths.
Here's the tif files to play around with...
Cheers
Stuart
