Anyone knows what happen to Alex (Xelasnave)? It is unusual for him to be absent from this forum for so long.

Strange you say that Karl, I was thinking the same thing tonight.

My thoughts too! I was thinking that we hadn't heard from Alex for quite some time this arvo and did a search of members to see when his last post was - I couldn't find him in the list (axelsnave) and it made me doubly concerned; though it was probably my incompetence with tryin to find his name.

I was going to post the question myself tonight - where are you old fella?

That's right, xelasnave, not axelsnave!

Maybe he got put of by having his post on the Aether being turned into a slanging match

It has been a wee bit quiet without him.
He was having computer troubles a while back.

Thought I'd reprise this thread and ask if anyone does know how/where Alex is?

Although I'm a latecomer to IIS Alex's postings quickly embedded themselves into my associations with this forum: not to mention what I found to be his own particular and meritous imprint on the whole show.

It's easy in these virtual spaces to not only feel/develope a sense of camaraderie that often outstrips our (normal, everyday) social interactions/bondings - but to also (seemingly) let these connections dissolve/disappear just as quickly.

Maybe it's just the nature of the internet chat forum beasts: but I for one wouldn't like to actively acquiesce in that particular mindset. To me it's a bit akin to saying technological advances/opportunities are only as good as their commercial value!

So, where is Alex; has anyone at all heard why he seems to have disappeared from our horizons?
I miss not seeing his posts, although we only communicated directly on threads a few times.

Regards, Darryl.

As a friend of Alex's and I dont want to speak for him, but sometimes
the above is not far from the truth. He may appear to be at times to
some people a man with rather interesting thoughts and theories. But
I can assure you if you met the man in person he is an extrememly
interesting character, friendly and compassionate about his hobby.

Apart from that we haven't had any feed back from him in our usual
Northern River Observers thread. I haven't bump into him in town
of late. If he was in Sydney I would of thought he would have
been active on this site. I can only assume for the present that he
maybe staying on his property and unable to make it down to his
puter in Tabulam. Hope to hear from him soon.

Ken and Alex please come back, i to am wondering where you to have dissaperared to. I think i might trot over to the "southern celestial pole" and try and see if your be lurking there.
Some people for me charecterise this forum and I would say Ken and Alex are corner stones. The universe is big enough for all our thoughts and opinions.

Also where is Asimov? Did he go abroad?

Remember this great Alex post from last year?
I am proud of my son (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=18778)

It may be irrelevant, but Alex's son's real estate business (Beecroft Real Estate), seems to have dropped off the web recently. Google's cache only has it from 2nd April:

Well although I find a lot of stuff here to go thru (having returned from the bush... that is of interest)

I must say Bert that your impression is not correct..I am too thick to be upset by anyones views even if in direct opposition to my own... I think the world of everyone here and hold all with a respect and admiration that my verbose style may not allow onlookers to realise. AND Bert out of all here I probably hold you higher in the respect stakes than most others.

I have not been away because anything has ticked me off... if something ticks me off I will say so.. however life on a personal level has presented me with some trials that left me feeling as time in the bush alone would be the best I could manage...

I am not worried about the eather thread as I have not noticed it yet... but please folks realise I am not upset with anyone or anything I just wanted time away from everyone in my real world...
