Well she's getting closer

Conditionwere crystal clear, except for the overhead jetstream

A tad nippy at present to type in the details, except exposure time was .110 sec

Comments and thoughts welcome

regards

Ok added another taken at 03:50

Very nice Rob, she's definitely getting bigger. I've wanted to get out every morning for the last week, but a) it's been too cold b) i've been sick and c) the jetstream is overhead.

Top stuff, can't wait to see your results come October.

Nice one Rob. Can't wait to see what you can do when it quietens down upstairs. Know what you mean about the Jetstream. Haven't been able to take a semidecent image for the last two weeks.

Thanks guys, I'm looking forward to it's closest approach too!! I kinda got into astronomy just as it was leaving in 2003, so I have been waiting a while  I did another moon mosaic to which I'm yet to process. It will be the opposite of the one I posted a week or two back.

Ving,

Nope! fast flowing air, in the upper atmosphere. Have you ever had those nights where it's crystal clear to the eye. But when you slot in an EP the Moon looks like it has water running over it. And your planetary views just dont quite focus like your use to. It's more than likely a jetstream over head.
Here a site which will show the current jetstream possition.

http://weather.wvec.com/auto/wvec/global/Region/AU/2xJetStream.html

someone posted it the other day. As you can see there is one covering the most of Australia.

hope that helped. I dont know much more about them than that... except to say they are a pain.

So please correct me if I'm wrong anyone :D
