1 Meade StarFinder equatorial mount.
Built like a tank. Has RA clock drive - friction clutch driven.
Everything is in working order. I have recently repaired the optical encoder LED, so all is fine - and it tracks pretty well. I won't vouch for its tracking accuracy - but will say that it's not bad.
This mount is fitted with the optional slow motion tangent arm on Dec. There are no slow motion controls on R.A. with these mounts - you push-to in R.A. I believe that Wildcard Innovations actually make an encoder kit for the great Argo Navis for this mount too - but you'll have to verify it: http://www.wildcard-innovations.com.au/kits/pn-stardc-10-spec_describe.html
It doesn't have tube rings, as such, but steel straps and wing nuts to hold the OTA very solidly. These straps are long enough for an 8 inch OTA. Longer ones would be simple to make, and this mount was originally intended as one for a 10" Newtonian OTA. It comes with a couple of counterweights.
This mount is pretty heavy and therefore I will not ship it, so it's pick-up from southern Sydney only I am afraid. I could optionally take it into my office in Pyrmont if that's easier for anyone.
This mount is going for an unbelievable, never to be repeated (by me) price of $0.00 :screwy:
I'd like to see it go to someone who'd benefit from an EQ mount, and would love to see it go to someone who might be finding it genuinely awkward to finance one otherwise.
Condition of purchase: when the lucky person who gets this mount has finished with it, they must pass it on to the next person for the same price (ie $0.00) and not profit from it.
Of course if you decide to hang on to it forever that's up to you. This is the same condition on which I received the mount.
PM me privately for more details if you are interested.
I took Ving's kind offer back in November 2006, and am now honouring the perpetual agreement: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=14937
