G'day all,
Andrews Communications selling the CPC 800 GPS XLT for $1999!!:D
Is this a misprint? It's half the price of the C9.25!
Anyone has a opinion of this gear as a "quick look" portable scope?
Mick.

No chance - must be a typo surely? Even if it was meant to be $2,999, that looks too cheap in comparison to the 8SE at $2,899.

The optcorp price in the US is 1999. Given the current dollar is almost 1:1 it might be true.

The OTA alone is 1699 AUD at Andrews, so i reckon it's a typo.

Price has just gone up again. :-(

I called them too, and they are going to get back to me. I assume the answer is no, but if they'll give it to me at the low price then I'll get one, even though I can't afford it. It's just too good.

Now on the off chance that they say yes, how will I break it to my wife?

Edit: I refreshed my cache and it seems the price on the web is still $1,999 but I just spoke to them and they said it's a mistake and they can't do it for less than $2,990. I'm very disappointed about that, but it seems to me that $2,990 is still a good deal for us Aussies, especially given that it's cheaper than the Nexstar 8SE. Unfortunately it's going to have to wait a while at that price.

Andrews have now corrected the typo: $2,950 it is. :(
