Hi all,

This one isn't as good as my last, but still better than I have seen here most times. Jupiter was very steady visually, but the sharpness of the detail was varying quite a bit.

Anyway got a few avis with the 14" LX200, ext. tube, 2x barlow and DFK.

Deconvolution= M.E. 1.5 and 12 gaussian and then M.E. 1.2 and 8 exponential.

That pulled out most of the detail, with very little to be done in Photoshop, just a bit of unsharpmask.

The first is with north up and the second the same image, just rotated 180 degrees.

Massive image scale, Lester. Another nice image.

I almost contemplated setting up last night - it was clear when I went to bed but it was raining when I woke up for work, so I made the right decision :)

Excellent images Lester. There is a lot of detail visible on the Jovian disc, some very interesting formations. If only I knew more about Jupiter's topography.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks Mike and Dennis for your comments.

Here is another avi processed, that shows 3 close dots on the bottom edge of the SEB at the centre of Jupiter. South is to the bottom.

Be interesting to see if these merge together to form one.

Nice work Lester! I had a look out this morning but the seeing was very poor so no data captured.

cheers, Bird

Thanks Anthony.

Looks like the jetstream is breaking up a bit for S.A. at last.

Hope you chaps in the east can still turn out some crackers.
