Hi, I am trying to understand the Wardaman aboriginal nation (made of more than one tribe i think) of northern territory's dark nebula constellation of the 'Wardaman Lawman' more fully. there is scant material on it on the web, I know there are some books, such as 'dark sparklers', that may have illustrated representation of this constellation contained within.
we all well know the emu one, and other more famous and more obvious ones, but this one is barely covered anywhere, except that such a thing exists, and that the coalsack is the head, and shoulders below - i would add upper torso to that tho - thats about it.
if someone has that book (its not on googlebooks) would they be so kind as to scan the image, if it exists. It may be some kind of 'not for widespread consumption' embargo by the people themselves?, i dunno, just asking,
have added some images from starrynight, and i have drawn the outlines i think it is, one is the one from somewhere really dark, with long neck, and maybe a headdress and angled slightly to side of profile, and another that is as it appears from somewhere mildly light polluted, which is more like a 'face on' silouhette/cut out - MIB type one, it could be mine hehe - MIB neb!!
and given that the Wardaman were located around Katherine, they would of been looking at it 20d lower in altitude to here, so may of appeared less defined or different?
maybe its not supposed to be a photographic/anatomically correct representational of the lawman, may be more like an aboriginal mythical/supernatural figure as in rock paintings?
TIA!
