I slewed the the arm into a tree and bent one of the out of reach sensors, but Ive disconnected that mechanically and put it back where it should be, I dont thing the issue is connected, but it sure would be helpfull to know what that says...

My daughter's high school japanese doesn't really help, but she tried.

The top two characters are complicated words - you'd need a suitable dictionary.

The bottom characters are four basic characters which my daughter says are usually an attempt to sound out an English word - but we cannot make sense of it. They are "She Su Teh Moo" in a phonetic sense. Doesn't sound like an obvious word to us - eg. not "check"??

Sorry, not much use. :(

Shawn,

You probably already tried this, but does the excavator's manufacturer have
a website? it may have info or a trouble shooting section. Or maybe diagrams
of the various controls/alarms/whatevers.

Just a thought.

Maybe you still have a problem with the reach sensors, sounds like the computer is inhibiting the boom and bucket movement because it thinks that the machine is over reached or it needs to see the sensor in the right range to allow movement in those functions.
Good luck hope this helps Shawn. :)

Yes its a baby one, got a lot of work to do around here, and it was cheaper to buy one and learn how to drive it, than to pay someone else.. Im starting to have second thoughts...

Thanks again Mick, I think I found the problem. the sensor on the bottom of the boom the harness is frayed, digging deeper, pun intended...;)

Hi Shawn,
With regards to the operation of your excavator and the frustrations that occur, I have been using them for sometime now and still manage to to get tangled up but find that closing my eyes (using the force if you like) is a good way to get back on track.

Regards,

Greg.

They couldn't think of a graphical symbol, as per the others? Or use English like they did with Caution and Check?

Hey, it's a rainy day...:)
