Very nice indeed. What was the focal length?

Hi Phil,
It's nice, but take some flats to get rid of the vignetting. It'll make it even better...
Cheers
Stuart
Hi guys this was shot at 135mm at F/4. Stuart you are right it needs flats didn't take any. Anyway thanks for the replys.

A bit of house-keeping on this shot and it will shine. I am starting to think I need to get into WF with a camera lens and my STL. There is just so much cool stuff to image at these focal lengths.
Mike - my guess is the FL of the shot is closer to 200 than 70.
Yeah i love the wield field stuff. I am in the middle of making a light box for the cannon 70-200mm lens. Once i get it made i will be taking flats with this lens. The shot is 135mm at F/4

i think its fantastic!
so how do you connect your lens to the CCD..is it a Steve Moggs special?
yes now that some one mentions it vignetting but at first look WOW!
Hi,
Just a T-ring for your particular camera, and so lens, will do :)
Paul
There are adapters you can buy from the STL-11000M that suit the cannon lens. I got my from the US but i think you can get then local now.
Phil
Wonderful image Phil, the dark nebula is quite stunning in the way it fans out.
Cheers
Thanks Ric the dark Neb make the shot i think.
Phil
Well done Phil. You've captured this fascinating region well. Colours look good. Would enjoy seeing a larger version. As others have mentioned, flats would go a long way on this image.

A nice image of a fascinating region and the vignetting isn't that bad really, in fact 20 years ago that would gave been very acceptable even normal (no such thing as flats then). I particularly like the composition Phil. Working with camera lenses and a CCD is very rewarding, particularly if you are using a small chip.
Mike
Thanks Mike and Jase this region is fascinating as you say Jase and Mike.
Thanks for your replys.

Wow. Beautiful wide field and great contrast on the dark neb. Does it have a designation?
Kind regards
Matt
Hi Matt thanks for your reply. Dont really get what you are asking about the designation. Designation in the sky is Scorpius. Or designation on my wall at home.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. The dark nebula itself, Does it have an NGC or other number?
