Hi Folks,

The Milky Way is always impressive, especially when it's being observed under dark skies. Last February I took a single exposure of such a spectacular scene, just right before the sunrise. The small preview is attached, higher resolution image is located here:

The technical details are:

Kenko SkyMemo, Canon 400D (Hutech), Sigma 20/1.8 @ 2.8, ISO800, 5 min

I hope you'll like it !

I am new to astrophotography. Did you piggyback/guided with a polar aligned scope?

That's a really good looking image Antu.

Although the preview is a bit small compared to what is normally posted on IIS, the high res version is stunning. Well done.

That is a great image.
We don't have magnitudes for nebulae but that image gives a good comparison of IC 4628 (centre), NGC 6334, NGC 6357 and M8 (lower left). It also shows IC 4606 around Antares and IC 4604 around rho Oph. All of these are visible with an 8" or larger.

Fabulous shot Antu. Wow! must get to Chile one day ;)

btw the Sigma 20mm f/2.8 lens, I've been trying to find it with the thought of buying one  but I cant seem to find it. Did you mean the F1.8?
