hi guys,

here is an image I processed as a crop of the overview M35+NGC2158 I posted recently.
NGC 2158 looks like a glob. cluster but sure isn't.
it is pretty old, said to count some 1 Bio. years and seems to be located 10800 LY from earth. it's true nature was only revealed in the 70s last century.

we're looking at 2 hours total exposure time.
SXVF M25C - 4+8 min subframes.
5" TMB f/9

Beautiful image again, Dietz. I love the old red stars, really showing their age.

I fully agree, the cluster looks great ! Vivid colors, overall good balance - lovely image indeed.

the couple M35 and NGC 2158 is wonderful target for visual observation sa well as photography,...which might be a bit difficult for all those who dwell on the southern hemisphere of course...(-:
