This one was with the Nikon D50 DSLR, ISO200, 1/50 shutter, 18mm @ f/3.5, cropped and adjusted slightly in photoshop...

Im going to have to buy a T-adapter and ring, lining it up by holding a 52mm frontal lense on the camera to a 10mm eyepiece by hand while the object is moving out of the scope QUICK is hard... but it worked i guess....

It appeared much clearer through the scope, could even see 3 moons... (possibly a 4th, or a low magnitude star.)

I'm pretty happy with myself today... After having bought my first scope on friday afternoon, Today i posted my first shots...

http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=30448

I accidentally posted them in the observational astronomy forum....

Through the scope i was able to see 3 or 4 moons, however due to the fact that i was simply holding the cameras up to the eyepiece, the cameras were unable to capture them.. I tried to get photos of the jewel box, eta carine, SMC and LMC but all were too dim for this method of photography...

All in all I had a good night viewing... After all the rain in my area today the seeing was pretty clear (once the clouds buggered off...)

Cheers.
Alex.
