Hi IIS'ers,

After my stupendous purchase of an electric focuser (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=30328)that I am quite frankly chuffed with, I thought I might start a thread with a poll on what you think is your favourite bit of gear.

I have too many new items to list so I think it will have to be the new Electric Focuser for me! However, I have made it a multiple choice poll so you can select up to three choices.

Mine are Electric Focuser, 12.5mm ED EP, 11x70 Binoculars

I am interested to hear and see (pics if you want) what YOUR favourite Astronomy item is!

Cheers

Chris

Is this the ones you have or the ones you harbor outrageous desires for!

For me. Argo Navis is in the latter!

Argo + Crayford 10:1.

I chose other for the third option, because my Astrosystems Barlowed Laser isn't listed! :) LOVE IT!

I love my Telrad. Always had to wrestle with my finderscope. Telrad is up there with sliced bread and WD-40

Observatory. That's it. Sure, there's other things I like, but the one thing I can't live without is the Observatory. Increasingly setting up in the field is just not worth it, but using the Obs makes it all worthwhile.

Taking the telescope as a "given"...

For me it is Argo Navis, Chair and Eyepieces...

If I assumed Telescope and Eyepieces then I would add a Parracor...

I love it all and I want more, more.
Must admit I go with 1Ponders in that I love my TVGuider after messing with calibration and guiding with sbig cameras.

And the WINNER is:

Telescope!

Closely followed by goto mount with Eyepiece bringing home third place!

Just goes to show you what the three most important things are to us hey?

Interesting.....

On a more serious note for just a minute Chris, the blessing of being able to see; which all of us on IIS may take for granted a bit.....

Best regards, Darryl.

Very true Darryl,

It is easy to forget just what we are able to see with our equipment and experience in using it.

I for one am amazed at the wonder of the cosmos and of the delights that are so close to all of us, yet so very far away in the same way.

I couldnt imagine the heartache of not being able to see it all due to illness or disease and it is humbling to think just how brave and spirited people who are living without sight can be and I am no longer taking this wonderful gift for granted.

Clear sight and clear skies to all.

Cheers

Chris
