G'day Guy's,

Prompted by Outbackmanyep in this thread (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=30317) I quickly put a few commands in last night's script to grab a few shots of this comet between NGC's and see what it looks like.

I only asked it to take 10 x 30 seconds, and kept only 7 x 30 seconds.

I think I'll do some more tonight, perhaps a bit longer exposure times, depends on guide star availability. I really need to re-train my PEC, PE is currently causing significant loss of images for me, and that's very un-usual. If I fix that I could go back up to 60sec unguided.

Roger.

Nice one Roger.

A bit more 'zoomed' in than my effort @ 150 mm FL :)

A nice capture Roger, I was considering this comet for imaging the other night but distracted by a PN. I think I'll have to give it a go.

It has a lovely tail on it as well.

Cheers

Yeah, very different FOV :) You'll have the upper hand if/when it gets brighter and bigger :)

Yes, quite a nice tail, barely captured in the 30 second exposures. I'll have to see how I go with longer ones :) I have learned from recent work though that the most interesting stuff happens in the nucleus so I'm going to probably concentrate any future imaging of it on nucleus comparisons - doing a few shots separated by time and comparing. And not trying to expose for the tail as it probably won't fit in my FOV anyway.

Thanks guy's

Hi Roger!
These are awesome pics! I hope you continue to image this comet regularly as the northerners have this comet low on the horizon and pictures help in a big way! Just be on the lookout for a possible outburst!!! Well done!

Cheers!
