Hi all
Also open cluster NGC 2437, all in one image. Ive got this before but this is by far the deepest
8x10 mins ISO200.
UV/IR filter, Baader MPCC coma corrector, modded 350D, 10 inch f5.6 newtonian, hand guided with q guider cam on off axis guider
Transparency was good, and temp rather chilly, but seeing was awful espectially in first part of the session, guidestars bloated and boiling, and soft images no matter how carefully focused, Im surprised it turned out as sharp as it has :)

That's a ripper, Scott. Excellent planetaries and beautiful star cluster. Excellent colours all round.
I know what you mean about the seeing - it was terrible!
A very nice result.

Thanks all. I love getting 2 or more planetaries in the one field :)
It would be interesting to know the distances to M1-18 and NGC2438, which is further away I wonder.

Atlas of the Southern Night Sky gives 3200 ly for NGC2438, and this page http://www.skyhound.com/sh/archive/feb/PK_231+04.1.html gives 8400 ly for M 1-18.

Nice image of 2 PNe. M1-18 is mag 14, size 30", will try seeing it with the 12". It is 23' north of NGC 2438.

I tried to nab this object in my 8" from dark skies here in Coombell a couple
of nights ago. Using scotts image and averted vision I could detect a hint
of a glow in the area of M1-18. But I also couldn't make out a lot of the
stars in the area around M1-18 as seen in Scott's image. So I cant say I
can confirm nabbing this object in an 8" under dark skies with fairly good
seeing and trans.

Wow ! The wield field view of the planetaries is really great. Very well done, the colors are simply superb. Thanks for sharing !
