Wow! What a stunning result! 270mins luminance and 270mins colour! No wonder it's so smooth and rich!

I'm quite sure this'll be on APOD soon!

Beautiful result, my friend.

:eyepop:

ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUS !!!!!

Well done, I'm also amazed that it was discovered in 1789. Imagine the scopes they had then compared to our modern gear.

Cheers Dietmar.

Dietz, I have tried very hard to avoid your threads, every time i open and look at your posts i find a new wallpaper background for my desktop. And worse of all i start to crave that expensive gear of yours that i know i could probably never afford. I have little doubt you have the best TMB scope on the planet. As always in awe of your work.

Congrats on your APOD (http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap080717.html) today for this image, Dietz!

Stunning result and well deserved.

For some reason I thought you'd already achieved APOD with this image.. must've been another one of yours I was thinking of :)

Hi Diets,

Yes fabulous image.

You have your procedures down and your equipment humming.

Yes Dietmar it is good to know that someone somewhere is producing superb images we can all enjoy. The folded rather large APO scope you have is only part of the successful subtleties in your images. It takes a great deal of knowledge to entice the detail out of the raw data.

I do not need to say how much it moves me, as I feel even closer. As a mere human I prefer 'natural' colours.

Well Done Dietmar !
Most people would expect that was a hubble shot :eyepop:
I am sure you are justifiably proud of that shot.
I will have to satisfy myself sharing the universe with the world, through my stories.
Your picture speaks a thousand words and begs the obvious who's out there questions that on a fundamental level drives most peoples fascination with deep space.
Keep up the good work, you have the power to inspire
