Hi Fred,

I know you asked about where to buy one but they aren't hard to make should you want one that's easier to use.

I'll try Scientrific then, but I reckon they only accept orders > $50 so I'll need to check them out 'n see if there is any other stuff I want from them. Mebbe some fibre optics to build myself an artificial star testing device hehe!

I will probably build my own spherometer in due course, using a dial gauge, but for the moment I just want something cheap to use.... :-)

Try Andre at Surplus Shed ( www.surplusshed.com (http://www.surplusshed.com)), they have one for $15; no minimum order and excellent service.

Yep, that ended up being the best solution thanx! Even at $10 US postage it works out better than getting it here in Oz.

Thanx everybody for your assistance, most appreciated. I will definitely be making my own later on, using a dial gauge - looks like that is a better long term option.

Cheers, Fred...
