Hi All,
We stopped in Coona overnight on the way back from Qld. Now I know why there is an observatory there! This was taken from outside the motel room, in town, such dark skies!!
Ten 120sec exposures with a 15sec gap, layered in Photoshop.

Was there a reason for the 15s gaps, or is that how long it took to download to the computer after each shot?

I left the gap to allow the camera to write to card, it's way too long, but it was the first time I had used the cam this way.

A great looking image Stuart, star trails are so easy to take and yet they can be so spectacular with the right composition.

Here it is - Omega Centauri.
But rather than point it out and spoil everyone's fun I decided to just crop it.;):)

'twas easy-peasy. Find Crux (colours give it away), back up to the pointers and step from there. It's bright in the image (and fuzzy!).

most cameras should be able to hold an image in its buffer and write to the card while taking the next image..
nice shot
