Hi all

As i am planning to head out to mountains tomorrow and saturday night, and expecting the moon to be 67.5% and 58.3% respectively, will this completely elliminate my chance of good dso night or is it only when there is a full moon?

Your help is greatly appreciated, thankyou :)

That's still pretty bright for DSO's. It will be rising later in the night so you'll be fine before it rises. But you won't be able to go an all nighter..

Saturday night should be OK if you get out and set up early then get into the available galaxies and nebulae before the moon rises about 10:30 then switch to clusters, double stars, the planets and luna observing after moonrise.

Maybe not an all nighter but still a good length of observing if the weather is kind. Be a good little Newcastle boy and "Never let a chance go by"!!

Keep looking up :)
