I have had another go at trying to image this little PN in Musca. See

and http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=19264
It is a median stack of 5 x 300 using my 40D through the VC200L.
It is a little blighter at 16 x 10 acrsecs.
My previous attempt was with my CCD camera and the resolution was no better. The central star saturates with 300sec exposures but I needed that time to get anything of the nebula. Maybe someone else would like to give it a go

It's a tough little beggar for sure, I had a go at it last year without too much success.

I think it may be time to have another attempt at it.

Thanks for the reminder Terry

Its pretty darned small. Good effort to get this image. I'm not sure how you can avoid saturating the central star - this always happens to me too on PN's like this.

Maybe someone else has a different approach?

False colour with emission line filters would maybe work, as it should reduce the star brightness more than that of the nebula. The Hubble palette (OIII, Ha, SII) might produce decent results. I've seen one LRGB of it that turned out ok.

Very true but this would require me buying some expensive filters. Oh for a bigger budget:shrug:
