...OK - it was me ;) :P

Here are some results from the weekend just gone - 400D, 100mm f2.8

The first two are shots of jumping Dolichopodid flies. These guys are scared by the pre-flash so if you try to take their shots you end up with a bare leaf. Therefore, I focused on the little guys, moved the focus either in or out a little and then aimed above and took the shot with the flash. As you can imagine there are a lot of missed shots, and of the ones in focus, it usually involved only half the fly in the frame. Luckily these guys usually return to the same spot after they have jumped clear so you can keep going until you get one that works. These guys are probably still seeing flashes today.

The others are a jumping spider, a robber fly, a damselfly and a few shots of a blue zebra butterfly.

thanks for looking

Awesome images Andrew, very well done.

I really like the first and second one. Looks like that little fella is hovering above the leaf. Great capture.

All are very well exposed, sharp, great colour and you've handled noise well.

... well you asked for them...

Had a yellow day yesterday...

First three are a Yellow Flower Wasp and the remainder are some views of a Yellow Tussock Moth that was visiting our custard apple tree

Brilliant Andrew, My favourit is #5 on the last batch.
It looks like something out of a sci fi movie.
