This morning while outside picking up the dog's offerings I had a look for Venus and could spot it quite easily at 0705 but when I looked again at 0715 not a hope. By this time the sun had risen well above the horizon and even if I got behind a tree I could not see Venus.
What is the latest time anyone can see Venus naked eye and without tracking aids??

I've seen it naked eye around 2pm, but that was very special conditions, and I had located it first with binoculars and had the sun blocked by a building. Humidity, dust/smoke, and angular separation also have a lot to do with your chances of spotting it.

I have tried many times but have had no luck.
I know that it is somewhere there but I just can't find it.
I will keep trying.

If you need to cheat to find it, use binoculars and the corner of a roof line or something to mark its location. It should then be easier to spot, if you can get your eyes to focus on it. Just make sure the sun is obscured :)

I found it again a bit before 7am but it disappeared very quickly again even though I knew the area to search. I think it all happened a bit earlier today which would makes sense but it always amazes me how quickly the day length and position of the sun alters through the year.
