No reply. He's outside imaging again!!
I love the intensity of colour in the emission and reflection nebulae!
A lovely rendition to start Triffid season Eric.
Fantastic colour, depth and detail, I'd be framing that one for sure.

Thanks Chris, glad you like it
LOL thanks Peter. umm no. avg 4 hours sleep a night.
your too kind Fred ;) i wish i had a RC. thanks mate.
Cheerss marc. thanks.
thanks leon. mind you i have to wake up everyday at 8am for work from 9am - 5:30pm. i normally eat my tea around 7:00ish then go outside and setup. depends on how the weather is if it is pure darkness, i'll pull the overnighter and goto bed at 5:30am then wakeup again the next morning at 8am
If I ever do move to the outback middle of NT, i'll turn to a zombie from the constant clear nights!
LOL thanks Baz. Re. expo times, it really depends on where you are. At my location, 7 mins at ISO 400 is a good range. anything longer will bloat everything and my image will turn all white. I'm 20km from Melbourne City Central. If you are nowhere near city lights anything over 50km from the city central, you can definitely pull over 10minutes expo at ISO 800!!. I once drove 100km for a trip away from my place and i nearly had a heart attack seeing how dark the sky is!!!
remember, the longer and more stack the better it will be as well as darker site will definitely make a huge difference. Don't follow my exposure and settings as it is cater for my location :) do longer subs than me if further away from the city. Another thing to look for, if you are further than me from your city, your camera will be much colder than mine hence definitely do longer subs.
