A quick test shot from Saturday night at Wiruna; Takahashi TOA150, STL11K, AP1200GTO, Astronomik Ha filter.

Due to the clouds after polar aligning, I only managed 5x 10mins exposures, so not nearly enough signal, but I guess it looks promising enough.

With the 6x7 medium format Tak flattener on there, the stars are pinpont to the edges, and no vignetting at all, which is nice.

This is obviously just a very small crop at actual pixel size of the full frame image which is huge and too big to post here. No processing at all bar a dark subtract and median stack in CCDStack.

Regards,
Rob.

Rob, even with the crop factor the stars have kept there round appearance, a very pleasing image indeed, nice shooting Rob.

I wish some of my finals were like that.
Nice test Rob.

I'd be ecstatic with that!

Thanks guys

Leon - there is no 'factor' in the crop, ie. the crop is not enlarged at all - every 1 pixel you see on your screen was one pixel from the camera, so the stars won't (or at least shouldn't!) take on any form other than round since they were round in the original shot.

The original shot is 3516 x 2328 pixels, and trying to shrink it down to fit in the 200k barrier simply wouldn't do it justice.

If I can get a website going sometime in the future, I guess I could post links.

Regards,
Rob.
