Well my guestion is just like it sounds. For various reasons i'm setting out to learn some conversational german. So i'm looking for someone in the brisbane area that is willing to meet up, maybe once a week and try and converse in german with me.

any takers?

I can't speak it, but sort of read it, and only "boardgame German". I occasionally try to translate German game rulebooks.

This site has been posted on IceInSpace before but is great for translating text from one language to another.

Dieser Aufstellungsort ist auf IceInSpace bekanntgegeben worden, bevor aber für das Übersetzen des Textes von einer Sprache zu anderen groß ist.

Not only that, but the translations often read like a translated Japanese manual :P

Josh - I'm fluent in German but I do not live in Brisbane...

Servus Josh (Servus = hello/goodbye. South Germans use it),

Leider bin ich nicht fleißend aber ich kann ein bischen Deutsch sprechen. Ich hab' nur Grundkenntnisse des Deutsch.

I got some basic books and courses on my pc, too.

I was in Germany for two years and the only 'Hans' I ever met was Dutch!!!

All the younger guys are called 'Peter' or 'Michael' or 'Johannes' etc and the older ones are 'Horst' or 'Dieter' or 'Michael'.
