Hi all,
Following a previous thread on Cometry Globules;
I think colour is a waste of time on such faint object, but,
CG1
3x10min RGB+darks
L=RGB
LRGB, colour smooth, etc.
Apart from flexure that has crept into my system, I had to fight 1 spider:scared:, 1 scorpion:scared: and many,many moths.
Interesting night.
No wonder they call them Cometry Globules.

LOL about all the beasts you had to contend with, I hate that too.

Gee thats nice, the front part looks quite bright.

Not sure what you mean by L=RGB. Did you simply combine the RGB channels to provide the luminance and if so what did you do the to luminance after this? Any deconvolution? If anything, I'd recommend using the R channel for luminance. If you want the most "realistic" colour, then don't blend any L, just plain RGB. Works great for bright targets, but L or Ha RGB is best for fainter targets. I enjoyed your cosmic hand pic some time back. Will be honest, this one doesn't do it for me, but I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Well done.

Thanks all for the positive comments.
RB & Eric, yes they are unusual objects and suprisingly neglected (Don't have the cute & furry factor:lol:). Most of my CG images are L's alone.
Scott, the front part is "very bright" and should be imageable from lighter sites. Maybe visual from dark site with large optics.
Sorry, L=R+G+B. In the absence of a L filter this, I think gives a wide spectrum of data.
What follows is an RRGB from the same data. I performed 160% adjust colour saturation and colour smoothing, as per the previous. No deconvolution.
Myself, I see little difference.
I think that to lift the data out, on such a dark object the colours of stars are washed out.
I am willing to learn and discuss any results from others that have tried these faint objects in colour.
