I acquired these images this morning in fairly good seeing. I was surprised to find the GRS and Io casting a shadow on the face of Jupiter.

The skies were mostly clear but I was interrupted with the occasional scattered cloud. The DMK was shooting at 60fps with a 1/60s exposure.

I currently in the process of making an animation, I will post the results.

All I need now is colour and a bigger image scale. :)

Details:

Celestron 8SE SCT f/20
DMK 21AU04.AS + 2x Barlow
Processed with Registax4 and PS CS3

Thanks for looking.

Nicely done Matt.

Two things:
1) Rotate the camera so that south is up. Do it once at the start of the session and it's done for the whole session.
2) Your collimation looks off. Check it and fix it :)

You're coming along fast. Well done.

Thanks Mike, :)

Thanks for the tips.

I checked the collimation before the session and it looked fine to me. This will be the first time I will collimate my scope. I am just about to put an order through for some Bobs knobs so they should help.

Yes well done Matt.

Mike, what in the image tells you that there is a collimation problem?
What for example would show you a focus problem?
I look at the image and it is not as clear and sharp as some of your Jupiter pictures but I cant correlate that to collimation or focus. Am trying to learn here and not being facetious.

Steve:)
