I had to do some squishing to get this one down in size to upload here. Unfortunately it has lost some detail in the transision. I usually like to have a lil space around my images.

8" f/6 newt, LPI
13 image composites of 20 x .004 exp
Gain 96%
Offset 43%

Compiled in PS 7

Warnig: File size is 111.2kb (original is 8mg)

Thoughts and comments most welcome.

As suggested, here is a link to a high res version on my website High Res Version (http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~rockerx/mozaic_hr_160705a.jpg) 1.3mg 1478x1042

Beautiful Rob, incredibly detailed and sharp.

You should upload the full size one to another webspace, i'd love to see it.

You guy's are too kind, Dang! you'll have me out there again imaging our luna friend again tonight lol

As suggested, here is a link to a high res version on my website. I'll re-edit the original post to include it as well. Thank you very much for you kind words. I had lovely weather and she was right over the top of me.

1.3mg (on my bush dialup it took 8 minutes to download, I've kept it at it's original resolution but in .jpg)

1478x1042 you may need to expand the image if your browser auto-resizes images

It loaded for me in 2 seconds :)
Great image.

You should try autostitch for mosaic creating, it would be much easier than photoshop/psp.

Hey Mike,

I have auto-stitch but I find it somestimes introduces unwanted artifacts into the image. The manual process allows me to make a seemless merge by working the pieces together in layers. Also the LPI has a nasty habit of being really noisy along one of it's edges. PS allows me to remove this from any of the leading edges in the mosiac. And although I didn't need to with this image, sometimes you need to individually adjust the brightness and contrast.

Actually you can get around having to do that by starting off with the brightest area first and keep shooting with those settings.

Regards, CS

PS: Thats about the only thing I miss out here "Cable"
