Hi Guys,

Took this 3 nights ago of two unique galaxies. the top galaxy looks like a mini sombrero galaxy. 12 x 5 minutes exposure at iso 400 due to a warm night. These are situated near the virgo/leo region. Theres afew other faint fuzzies around it also.

Hi Res here:

Eric that is pretty cool, and your right there are some other galaxies visible in that shot, gee you give that set-up of yours a flogging, but it must be up to the task, great stuff, keep em coming.

thanks leon. your fsq-106 will do nicely around this region with plenty of galaixes ;)

I just also would like to add, the bottom marble looking galaxy, there is a halo around it, it is NOT internal reflection. this is actually part of the galaxy. :)

Eric, yep your right I actually didn't notice that :doh:but on closer inspection it is quite visible, although faint.

I'm sure my tak could handle those as well but i have so much light pollution in that direction, as it is directly across the city lights, plus the warn nights don't help, but i'm working on a pier which will be planted in a dark sky soon. ;)

Actually the pier is ready, and it will suit G11 and G8 mounts, weighs 300 kgs, :eyepop: and all i have to do is some sweet talking to some people i know around the Snake Valley way, have some rellies over that direction.

Leon

Hey, great image Eric.
Its the faint outer reaches of the galaxies that interest me.
Nicely captured and presented.:P
I've added these two to my list for cooler weather.

Don't worry Eric, just as long as the camera arrives without having blown a gasket and steam coming out of it, it will all be OK from this end!

I wish you many sleepless, cloudless nights between now and Monday.
