Hullo folks,
You might remember me poking my head in a little while back about buying a new scope (upgrading from a 6").
Well my plans have changed somewhat and I've narrowed down the options to either a 10" or 12" solid tube dob.

But I can't seem to pick between those.

My gut says get the 12".
But my brain is saying things about portability, and weight.
And the ease of possibly mounting the thing on an equatorial mount later on in its life.

I live in pretty dark skies (Tasmania ) lmc/smc milky way no prob on clear nights, a few too many trees... so I may need to be able to chuck it in a 4wd and lug it up to the paddock (200m or so)
Though I could possibly store it in a shed up there...What are my chances of fitting the 12" in a 4wd?

General comments?
Any help appreciated :) (indecisiveness is a curse)

Does the 4wd have fold down seats to give a large flat-ish load space?
If so get the 12 and you wont spend your life wondering.

Yes it does, they fold all the way flat, even the front seat will go mostly out of the way... you have a good point *grin*

My first was a 10" .. I really thought hard on the 12" before buying it .
Now I Have a 12" truss ..and both are great scopes for the $
your only moving the scope up the back yard really ..so I'd grab the 12" .

If storage and transport are no problems then its a no brainer.......... size does matter :)
