View Full Version here: : Saturn 1st march 08
taken last night (as per date in title LOL), seeing was ok i guess but the transparency around good old saturn was pretty bad (as was my collimation)
any how these are both from the same run but with different processing.

Good result - bands showing on the disc and the Cassini division also showing.
I have found it difficult to get the Cassini division this year but the disc detail appears to be easier for some strange reason?

Saturn allways amazes me when I see it. It was the first thing I ever saw through a telescope, it is a beautiful planet to observe IMO.
Saturn always amazes me, especially now with the ring plane turning egde on - see more of the planetary disk that way.
But tell me? What's a guy supposed to do - I teach astronomy at a local junior college, go outside for "lab", lock my Questar on Saturn at maybe 250X, and this student says to me - thats not real is it? Somehow you've got a picture out of a journal inside the scope? right?
Anyone elso ever run into comments like that? ??????????????
