Deep space nuclear blast

Greetings all,

I recently bought a new QHY8 camera but have only been able to image for several minutes between cloudy nights.

I may have come across a nuclear war in deep space.
This image shows what looks like an atom bomb explosion ;)
with mushroom shape.

Hi Vince, I've never heard the Keyhole described that way but you are right it does have the appearance of a mushroom cloud.

Vince, a very good descriptive, perhaps they shoud rename it the "fat boy" nebula. :confuse3:

I don't know when I can get another clear night to image with it.
I've had about 5 hours over three months.

This camera is very good.
6.1million pixels gives you a big area.
Have a look at www.qhyccd.com (http://www.qhyccd.com) there are quite a few images on that sight.

If my weather clears I'll post some images.
