congratulations- great photo.
now, is that a glass of beer reflected in the water drop?

Thanks Al and DJDD for your comments. No, it wasn't a glass of beer, it was just the base of the bathroom tap, and the tap just dispensed water. However, if I had a choice, it would have dispensed Red Wine, not beer! :):)

The next subject will be:

"Something in, or around the house"

That should give people plenty of scope for interpretation. Let's see what your imagination can come up with! Good Luck, and let's have lots of entries, it's better fun that way.

I would like to add my congratulations to all the entrants this month, there were some excellent captures. My particular favourites were AstroSouth and FloatOnSnow for their interpretations of the theme.:thumbsup:

When the subject is broadly based, it encourages more entries, and I hope that this month's subject will do just that. 25+??? I hope so.

Congrats Mike - nice timing with the shot... and thanks for the endorsement. I have been waiting for the comp to finish to post some more from that shoot taken at Cedar Creek (up north of Brisbane) - didn't want to ruin the anonymity ;) .

Good idea with the subject too  Of course it was hard enough narrowing it down to a top 4 from that lot, if there are many more entries this month perhaps the masked "Mr Photo Challenge" will let us choose a few more :D .

It was great to have so many entries this month- we have a talented bunch of photographers, or should I say artists, on this forum... :D:thumbsup:

i will also pass on your comments about FloatOnSnow's entry to my wife...(I thought I should proclaim a potential conflict of interest. :P )
also, I did not vote for her.

!!! whahoo congrats Mike, a well deserved win indeed.
A great shot and perfectly timed.

Can you post how you shot it and the details (exif), would love to give it a go sometime.

I really enjoyed this month's comp, a nice collection of images.
My hat's off to astro_south's photo as well, I loved it.
A few others that got my attention too were sheeny's, houghy's and Mr B's, I also thought FloatOnSnow's was cleaver.

Sounds like a very interesting topic for this month, nice choice Sharnie !

Thanks all, for the kind comments. I have to confess that I spent an inordinately long time getting that shot, and if I was not retired, it might never have happened. I took about 330 shots all up, and I can say that getting the timing right is not particularly easy, and requires a lot of trial and error, mostly error.

I have included some of the rejects, the colour shot being taken with a coloured gel over the flash unit. All of these shots were taken with the 100mm macro lens, 1/200 at f13 and an ISO of 400, and flash set to manual with varying flash powers.

My wife expressed the opinion that I was not entirely sane, or words to that effect, and felt that my time could have been better spent doing chores. I ask you, are those the comments of a reasonable person? :)
