hey all just back from a night out , my 3rd night out with my first scope!
thought id just share my great night out :D
and tonight was awsome :D
my first night i saw saturn and w0w i was addicted!
my second night i saw saturn again and also the orion nebula , tho was very faint and really black and white and blurry.

tonight there was no moon so i had a bit of troubles getting my bearings right and setting up the finderscope, never ended up getting it all correctly aligned
However by sheer chance i managed to find the orion nebula, and i had just been down to york-optical (sydney) earlier today and bought my self a set of filters.

I put in a blue filter on my 20mm eye piece and w0w the orion nebula just look out of this world!! :eyepop:
Detail was excellent! nice and clear image!!:scared:

Astronomy will defiantly be life long hobby 4 me , im HOOKED!

yeah the orion nebula is impressive... you can hardly see it with the naked eye but then you look through the scope and it is the centre of attention!

there is another nebula on the next star towards orions belt.. running man nebula.. not sure it will be visible, so far only city skies for me.

I Agree,

The Orion Nebula,is one of the easiest,to find, and Awe Inspiring Sights,I have ever seen.

I do Beleve,Newcomers, and old timers will agree too.

I personally,Prefer the View,of M42,with 20x80 binoculars,Mounted,Of Course.

I was looking at it last night using my 18mm ultrawide eyepiece and the extensions of the nebula radiating out from the Trap were fantastic. I also counted five stars in the Trap and then a sixth star appeared which made me happy.

Definitely in my top five DSO's for visual viewing
