As the rain continues to pummel old Sydney town, I've taken the opportunity to go over some of my old archived data...some of which I have not processed before.
I gave this one some serious bend/stretching and pseudo colour...after all the Sun was really angry that day....

Stunning image, Pete. When was that taken?
Details of scope + camera etc?
It's a shame the focal length is just a tad too long to fit the whole disc.

That's why I never processed it until now ;) Image taken 28/7/2002
AP130 F6 with AP 2x Barcon. Coronado SM90/BF30, STL11000...1/10th sec exposures using CCDops...rest in PS CS3. I think I was running a HGM200 then.
Very nice, Peter.
Thanks for sharing. Must be nice to find this sort of data among your unprocessed stuff?

lol true that, in my unprocessed stuff I've got a few blurry jupiters and a wobbly saturn, amongst a deep-space image with speckly darks :)

stunning
Very nice. It has a very unnatural look to it which is part of the appeal, the stretch and pseudo colour make the features very definitive.
