Hi, I'm only fairly new to the whole astronomy hobby and was wondering if anyone could recommend any groups that meet on the Gold Coast. I find that I can only learn so much on the net without the first hand experience.
Thanks

Hi Warrick, thanks for the feedback!
In SEQLD, there's a couple of active ones including SEQAS and AAQ. Check out the Club Listing (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/?club_listing) page for their details.
There's also an active IIS contingent in the SEQ area that meets up at a local dark sky site at Cambroon. Keep an eye on the "Star Parties" forum for a thread near new moon.

I somehow knew there was a SAS but thought I was thinking about SASI in Southerland NSW.
I'll add SAS to the list.

Warrick
you just missed our meeting on Saturday night. If you go to the website that Matt provided you can find the Event Horizon document that will have dates and times for the upcoming meetings.
