Rise, set amd Transit times

Just got Astromist for PDA. Just trying to satisfy myself with what exactly is the difference in rise, set and transit times, and the best seeing times for various objects.

Fro example 23/02/08 M1, NGC1952

Mag 8.4, Cont Tau, Rise 15h55, Transit 20h45, Alt 30, Set 01h35.

Also the Alt, Azimuth setting for both star explorer and Stellairum don't match with the pda, even with the same location and time and date settings.

Just trying to shorten the learning curve a little !!!! :)

Hi Darren,

The above data for M1 in Melbourne are correct. If the PDA is off by just a minute or two, don't worry about it... you are not going to miss M1 because of that alone :rolleyes:

If the difference is more than a few minutes, how much is it? Are you sure the time zone and DST have been set correctly in both the PDA's settings as well as Astromist's settings?
