hi all, bought a meade lightbridge 10" on the weekend and we couldnt be happier with it!

for first light the light conditions were poor: normal adelaide light pollution, the moon, neighbours lights, lack of shroud and some cloud .. but that didnt stop us!

saw good views of the moon - so clear it was amazing.. it filled the 26mm EP nicely.

saw a small red disc for mars, saw saturn's rings as lines out the side and the orion nebula was very nice. cant wait to see that under dark skies.

so thanks for the direct help and especially indirect help through past forum posts!

cheers

Keep tweaking and trying, mark3D - Saturn's rings should be quite clearly distinct from the planet in the 10" and you can still see the gap between the rings and the planet on each side even though they have closed up since last year. Glad to hear you are having fun. Now it's time to get up early and try Jupiter around 4am!
