Hi Guys,

Heres a shot taken Friday night of NGC3521. Looks abit like the sunflower galaxy from the north. 11 x 7 minutes expo at ISO 400.

hi Eric,

this guy really looks pretty much like the northern sun flower!
very nice image!
let me encourage yopu to go back to that one and add more exposure time, it would bring out the fainter regions even better...(-:

What a fascinating galaxy, it does resemble the Sunflower galaxy and a very nice image as well.

I have to put this on my list of thing to observe and possibly image.

Thanks Dietz and Ric. Yes longer exposure time will definitely capture more detail but not from where iam from my light pollution and summer down here also will increase in noise. around 16-19 degrees ambient at 12am.

A nice detailed galaxy there, ive not seen it before, thanks for showing it to us, lots of fine detail there

its on my list now

currently transiting at about 2.45 so will be able to pick it up next new moon.

ive become a fan of galaxys lately and this one is positioned for a nice shot and shows some nice detail.

THanks Scott and C. Yes, it is the galaxy season right now esp around the Leo/Virgo area. alot of them little ones are on my list.
