Hi,

I took these a little while ago with the 8" reflector, stats are Pentax *ist DS, ISO400, 0.6 second exposure. Processed in CS2 - levels, deconvolution, resize/border.

In the centre crater and just below the centre there are a couple of darkish areas (no I am not talking about the shadows :P). When I originally took the shot I used a 2x barlow, and when I do this I end up with a white hazy area in the centre of all my shots, which is not visible when I am just observing the moon. Is this likely to be an aberration on the barlow? Will a better barlow take care of this (I have a cheap one currently)?

Overall I think I did pretty well, only the focus needs to be improved a bit.

I've got the same problem with mine as well.
maybe someone could help us both out.
Going off the topic a bit, What do you use to take photos with?
:P

Hi and Welcome to the community :),

In this case, I used an 8" Reflector, HEQ5 and a Pentax *ist DS. I now have a Skywatcher Pro ED80 refractor as well.
