I would like to take the time and thank Jonathon for making me a much stonger dovetail with less flex then the original celestron Dovetail for my C-11.
Jonathon was happy to do this for me which at the time I was getting a bit frustrated finding something suitable.
I could have purchased something suitable overseas at a cost of around $220AUD...I wont go into the price Jonathon did it for me but take off around $200 and your very close....lol
Thanks mate...very much appreciated.
Isn't great that you get this type of help from the IceinSpace forum's.

That looks a lot better Tony.
The original worried me a lot when we were polar alighning the scope .
I take it that it does not droop from the total weight of the C11 and ED80.
How's the SS going.Figured it out yet. :poke:

I'm glad to hear you like it Tony. You didn't waste any time getting it set up! I hope it stands up to the real test when you start imaging.

That looks great Tony a lot more substantial {matchs that mammoth pier}, good on yer Jonathan . BTW the two bolts that tighten the scope to the mount are they the only locking functions that hold everything together ?

Yeah Stuart...thats all that holds it together but it seems to be enough....you dont get any movement from that area.
so when do we start see astropics tony?

David,
As soon as my camera's arrive I will start doing some imaging......anytime over the coming weeks they are both expected to arrive....by the time I get it all set up and actualy understand the software...give me about 2 months...even then I will probably be too embarased to post here......so until I get it to some kind of standard good enough for this forum...I will post...if all else fails I will steel a picture of the hubble and claim I did it.....lol

2 months!!!
Tony, you would've sold and bought 3 new scopes by then. Which model will we actually see pics from? A 16" Meade reflector? 18" SCT?

The Celestron 11" SCT will be in my possession for some time.....atleast till the year 2011.....or till the end of the year...which ever comes first....lol
