Is there any way to filter what you see under the "New Posts" link? Specifically, I'd like to be able to filter out the "Images" folder (and sub-folders).

I enjoy this forum, however I'm not interested in looking at posts of images. There are a lot of posts of images on these forums :)

I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way. I can appreciate the hard work astro-imagers put into creating these masterpieces. However they tend to drown out the posts I'm interested in reading (news, events, observational astronomy, classifieds, etc). I'm sure there would be other users who would like to filter New Posts based on their own requirements.

At this stage, no there's not. But one workaround for you, may be to go into each of the imaging forums and click "thread tools"-> "mark this forum read" as a first step.

Then when you go to "new posts" all the imaging related threads won't appear.

Cheers Mike - I'll try that.

Love your images :) (seriously)

Ah, each of the imaging forums.... that gets a bit cumbersome. No option at the Images level.

I must admit that I have never used the "New Posts" function before.
I just quickly browse through each section and see if there is new thread that catches my attention.

If you double-click on the forum icon, you'll mark that forum read, without needing to open each forum. But just because your diplomacy not to upset the photographers gave me a chuckle, if you click on this link (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/getnew-noimages.php) you'll get new posts without displaying the images forums...

Thanks Mojo - I didn't know about the double-click moon icon thing. Thanks also for writing a piece of PHP for me (assuming you did...!) :)
