Hi Dave & Barb

Gee, you guys are being incredibly productive with that Pentax. A terrific image and 7 minute light frames –wow, now that is good! It looks nice and clean, with round stars and just very pleasing to the eye.

Cheers

Barb and Dave, now I have looked for that elusive chook in your image, but have failed to see it, now with that useless bit of information said, your image is very impressive, all looks pretty good to me, well done.;)

The Pentax has served us well Dennis. We're looking at getting a 40D soon . We hope we can improve our images with the Canon. :)

Thanks for the comments Frank

Thanks Doug

Leon we can't see the chook either  Don't know who named it. Maybe it's obvious in deeper or better quality images

Thanks for the comments Matty. Don't know why it's called the running chicken

Great image Barb & Dave, that is a wonderful region of nebulosity and you have captured it very nicely.

Cheers

That's a beautiful result Barb & David.
I love the colours, especially how you've picked up some nice yellow stars in there too.
The histogram seems a little clipped in the shadows but the overall look is great.

Perhaps my only suggestion would be to post a larger size as the 600 x 567 pixels doesn't do it justice.
You'd be able to easily post one at double the res and yet still maintain detail.

In PS CS2 I resize my images from original to around the 1000px mark and tick "Bi-cubic Sharper" next to the "Re-sample Image" option.
Then use the "Save for web" menu item under "File" to save it as a jpg to fit within the forum limit.

Once again an excellent result.
:)

Pardon our ignorance guys. You both have mentioned blok and neb globs. Not sure whether we we've got this right :P Are the dark areas I have selected in this image what you're talking about. I have enhanced them a bit.

You're right about the clipping Andrew. Have tried to adjust it but lose too much detail in the nebula.

Thanks for the tip on resizing
