Lovely image, David. Maybe a slightly longer exposure to get some water blur would've been nicer (my taste, anyway).
yeah water blur would have been ideal mike but i couldnt extend the exposure any further without over exposing... say luvey hey :)

In those conditions, I use ND and polarising filters stacked, plus stopped down all the way :)
I wish i had those :p
actually i did take some with a polariser and they worked out pretty good :)

Another thing to do David - pseudo time exposure - go HDR, but you'll need a tripod.
Take a shot in auto - see what the camera timed the shot at. Go to manual, set the f-stop to the same as the camera used. Grab five shots all at the same f-stop and vary the timing by a click in each frame (2-clicks under-speed, 1-click under-speed, auto-set speed, 1-click over-speed, 2-clicks over-speed).
Merge to HDR using anyone of a number of downloadable HDR programs. You'll get a beautifully-smooth image. The more frames - the smoother.
my psp12 has hrd built in (long live psp12). :)

So you were using the polariser to cut reflection off the water?
no i was using it to cut down light so i could use a lower shutterspeed without blowing out highlights :)

Oh..... bear with me here, I'm a bit slow. A single filter or two crossed polarising filters?
just a single. i only have uv filters and a single cpl. probably need a neutral density but i have other priorities like a new 300mm lens and a flash :)
