Hi everyone,

This is just a shameless plug for the next National Convention of Amateur Astronomers (NACAA) to be held in Frankston, Victoria over Easter, 2006.

IceInSpace membership shows what great depth there is in amateur astronomy in Australia, and I hope as many of you as possible will take the opportunity to meet with like-minded people from all over the country, perhaps even provide a presentation, posters or give a talk yourself!

For information, our website is www.nacaa.org.au

Cheers, Richard Pollard, MPAS

Hi Richard
Have you sent an invite to Iceman ?
He is after all the El-presidente of the biggest Astro "club" in the country !
I am considering if I can attend myself for GAA, at the least we will do a poster or powerpoint presentation for the event !
Is anyone else planning to get involved in this national event ?

OK, your've convinced me.

(Well, since it's only 2 mins drive from my house, in the next suburb...but I swear that had nothing to do with it!)

Hi Richard,
Good luck to all those involved in Nacca 2006. I'm sure it will be great. :)
I will not be there as the cost is to high for me.

Ian, Richard has invited me.

But unfortunately I can't make it down to Vic again, after the holiday a couple of months ago, the budget just won't extend. Would love to go though, I reckon it will be a great event.

I think it's a great idea that as many IIS'ers as possible support this event - anything that grows amateur astronomy in Australia is a good thing. And this event looks like it'll showcase the "serious" side of our hobby - the people doing real science or real research with their amateur equipment.

I'm hoping to provide a poster of some kind for display at the event.

Good one Mike .
Our most likely contribution is a poster or presentation too.
