OK, So I have a new 12" scope that requires a trailer for me to get it to dark skies. My trailer spends most of its life as storage for tent, camping gear, miscellaneous excess household items, sets of spare speakers etc. so a dedicated telescope trailer would be very useful.

Perhaps someone in Melbourne or surrounds has a single axle, 6 foot by 4 foot (or similar) trailer that could use a new home? I really just need something that has no serious rust, an axle that is straight and wheels that turn. I can clean it up, replace wiring etc.

My wife wasn't expecting me to need a trailer as an astronomy accessory, so I don't have much budget.

PM me if you would like to replace that old trailer with some cash.

Thanks for looking
Eric

Hi

Are you sure a 6 by 4 is big enough, maybe you need an upgrade path for when you get that 30 inch obsession :)

Cheeky ;) If (when!) I can afford an Obsession, I can afford a new trailer! I have looked at a new kit for a 4 foot x 3.5 foot and, building my own box, I could make it fit. But I don't want to spend that much.

So, everyone out there, let me know even if yours isn't a 6 x 4 - it may still be one I can use!

Final check if there are any takers?? I've had a very kind offer of a loaner if I need it, which I may well take up with SVAA camp coming up.

I'll be off to the local Trading Post next week - a quick look shows second hand trailers in the $250-350 range.

Thanks for looking. :)

I just bought an old rusted 1500x900 crapper with cage for $200 off ebay.

Its going to take some work to fix the floor etc but at last my SDM will be mobile when its finished :D

Good luck in your search.
